Get your yee-haws out: Our first Stampede gig

Jeans, boots, Smithbilts, Western shirts, you name it.

We played our first Stampede show on Thursday, July 12 at the Blind Beggar Pub, along with fellow locals Yellowknife, and let our yee-haws out. Judging by the crowd reaction, we know you did too!

We played some new material by the likes of Dixie Chicks (Goodbye Earl) and Garth Brooks (Friends in Low Places), as a tip-of-the-Smithbilt to the Stampede. We also had some guests in town from Melbourne, Australia, and we serenaded them with a tune from Oz (Men at Work’s Who Can It Be Now, natch!).

Thanks to everyone who came out and partied with us. We’re still adding the money up, but we should be donating $600 or more to the Calgary Humane Society via ticket sales.

We’ll be back on stage at the Blind Beggar on Sept. 29 for a cancer fundraiser with some other local outfits. Stay tuned for more details!
